Diadem for a Mountain
This was one of those nights which remain indelibly etched in your consciousness ... The moment was so perfect ... The full moon was rising above a mountain which rose sharply behind my back, casting a long black shadow across much of the ice mantled lake, while the far shore's mountains were already bathing in Luna's golden rays and were crowned above with lazy swirling Auroral light.
We play out our little butterfly lives while our world spins unconcernedly on into the future, but the memory of certain moments seem to stand above the abyss of time ... It seems to me that the real value of image making for humans, in painting cave walls or taking digital photographs, is that it presents us with a way to hold , to intensify , to feel again those singular moments, regardless of whether we experience them personally or vicariously ..
