Multitude of Worlds
" The infinitude of creation is great enough to make a world, or a multitude of worlds, look in comparison with it, what a flower, or an insect does in comparison with the Earth"
---- Immanuel Kant
Yet another backyard snapshot of Comet Hale-Bopp, with a definite multitude of worlds in the background.
Here, I am belaboring the obvious, but it is endlessly astonishing to really consider that each of the points of light in this photo, like a handful of sand grains, is a distant sun, with it's own family of worlds and it's own halo of comets ..... and that even this is only a tiny, tiny fraction of the suns in our Galaxy, which is in turn only one of uncountable trillions of other galaxies in the observable universe.
Admiittedly, this is very similiar to other photos I've posted here, but I really like the definition this one shows in the comet's ionized gas tail.
By the way, this beautiful visitor will return in the year 4377 ... I wonder what it will find?
a 2 minute piggybacked exposure with a Praktica LTL, 135mm lens, Fujipress 800 film.
