Close-up Hail Stone

    Newer Older

This hail stone was about the size of a pencil erasure tip (1/3 of an inch) in diameter. It's been an interesting weather day in Madison, WI. I took this picture on my balcony as I watched the storrm roll in.

Tabbymom Jen, leedav, Mr Dave Esmond, and 4 other people added this photo to their favorites.

Very cool. I've decided that "I need" to get a macro lens. : )

I am SO glad I got this macro lens! The hail stone is sitting on our wooden blacony excatly where it landed from somewhere in the sky. The tear-drop shape is what caught my eye, and it's size.
