St Patrick's Cathedral, New York City

I loved St. Patricks but, as with pretty much all the buildings I visited, it was a tripod-free zone. Once again, however, the Gorillapod saved the day and I managed to get a few shots by attaching it to the back of a pew and holding the legs as steady as possible during each exposure. Given the difficulty in finding places to attach the Gorillapod, though, I couldn't really pick my compositions too well. I would find somewhere reasonably stable for the camera then compose using the zoom. A shot directly down the main aisle would have been great but that wasn't to be.

I could, of course, say that I had no intention of taking any clichéd compositions and went into the building specifically looking for off-kilter, weird perspective shots like this one :-)
