Restoring a windmill

This windmill was built in 1782 by order of the local Lord, Frans Julius Johan van Eijsinga. It served to keep the polder dry, but became obsolete in 1925 when an electrical pump house was installed to keep the water out of the polder. Years of decay followed, till a group of enthusiasts took over the mill in 1949. It has been operational again since 1998, but now a restoration of the roof was necessary. I passed by the mill this morning and was happy to have my camera with me!
