Dr and Sylvie Clarke
I was at Newmarket Races this evening and I was walking around taking pictures when I finally found this couple. I stood opposite them, blatantly photographing them, and the passers by all stopped for me to take the pics, which led to them noticing me, which led to this.
I went over to them, thanked them for letting me take their photos and asked their names.
"I'm Dr Clarke,"
"And I'm Sylvie Clarke, Dr Clarke is quite well known here in Newmarket,"
"I used to be a greyhound trainer, and now I'm a professional punter and this horse, (taps newspaper) is going to win. We're off to put a bet on now. Come on Sylvie."
Off they ambled.
I walked up to David Patrick, a little independent bookie who I'd been using all night and punted my £25 winnings at 4/1 on Sonny Parkin to win.
£25 quid. That's £125 winnings, and what a great story, great start to my summer holiday.
Sonny Parkin came in 4th.
