This past week, I was lucky enough to hang out and shoot with Liisa Härmson, Gurbir Grewal, Brian Oldham, and Alex Stoddard. This is a photo from the day we spent out at the Mojave Desert sand dunes and lava tubes - I don't think I've ever been so overwhelmed by heat and thirst in my life!

Carrying that ladder in 120 degree temperatures (even between the lot of us), among other props and clothing bags was rough, but it was a pleasure to get to see the dunes and shoot in them as well with people I respect and admire not only as photographers, but as friends. This summer has been filled with countless adventures and meet ups, so I plan to make a blog post about them all in the coming weeks!

Model: Alex Stoddard
Assistants: Brian Oldham and Gurbir Grewal

The shadow of his body is there, actually - it's just hard to see! I shot the shadow and Alex together so there wouldn't be a problem. Thank you, Evan! :)

This is beautiful and especially with such harsh lighting conditions. I can't even work with them down here in Hawaii, it's just so difficult and makes a lot of my pictures look like crap so I never try to really work with it (unless I have a lot of shade). I love that you were able to get the everything so well done despite, the blues of the sky, no harsh shadowing on him, the concept is terrific, and I personally love the sand hill. Also, dang, that is some absolutely warm weather! But so awesome to work with such a talented group of people. :)

Oh how i wish the ladder was more horizontal. Not all the way though.
But great picture, the background looks incredible, like it just goes on forever and ever.

I shot something similar a month or so ago (ladder wise), if only it comes out as half as lovely as yours!! Great job.
