Part of my cancer series.

I started getting sick when I was at least 16, I would be late for school because I would be nauseous in the morning, they would tell me I can't be sick every day. My doctor thought it was normal for teenagers to not be able to eat, throw up, get light headed, weak and losing weight. Luckily one day my doctor wasn't around when I got sick and I had to see someone else who didn't think that this was normal, especially the pain in my heart. Turns out I had a tumor by my heart. It didn't stick out so it didn't raise any alarms, and most people probably just didn't take me seriously because I was young. It took about 5 years to be diagnosed with cancer, I was in college by then. Cancer doesn't care how young you are. It pays to get second opinions.
