Macarons

Gerard Mulot, Paris

They are a bit too colourful indeed. Makes me wonder what's in them (as in 'this cannot be wholly natural, can it?')
  • MsAdventuresinItaly PRO 8y

Aesthetically I love this photo. I'm curious about how they taste, though.

Oooh, it's like a macaron nursery. ...Whose babies I want to eat.

I thought his macarons were a lil' too sweet. .__.
  • kim 8y

Not a fan of the mustardy macaron, but I could totally hop on board with the others.
  • deb PRO 8y

From the preview, I thought they were M&Ms. I can't abide this level of food coloring.
  • Nazila PRO 8y

I feel very unsure about the colors, but I thought they all tasted pretty good.

I'm against the blue. They should all be disposed of (ie, eaten by me) immediately.
  • HIMAWALI 8y

I love this picture. These colors are too vivid, indeed.....

    love the colours!

The macarons are a bit intensely colored for me...but I don't mind eating them as long as they're tasty (even though I never had it from this particular place).

    Hmmm...too right for moi

On a second glance, shouldn't the colours follow the rainbow, thus the blue be above the yellow.

Honestly, you would think the french could get that right.

Who cares about the food - the colors, even if some think they are "off" or "out of order", are interesting in their own right! :) And the angle/perspective is very eyecatching too!

Then again, I'm just an amateur, and your mileage may vary... ;)
  • lien PRO 7y

    Are these artificially colored?
  • rachelino PRO 6y

Yes, lienhp. I don't think any food is naturally blue. Even blueberries are really purple. The macarons look beautiful! Just not edible.
  • kenko PRO 6y

Borage flowers are naturally blue and edible.

Just back from Paris, and I absolutely loved the cafe' macarons at Gerard Mulot. The best in the city, and I think I tried them all!

The colors are cutting edge and GM is the master, and a very gracious guy. I went to Paris last Spring and fell in LOVE.

I think they're not only beautiful but delicieuses as well :)

What flavor are the blue ones?
