      Interesting! I've never seen them "fresh" before and had never really thought about what they'd look like. They could almost be mistaken for green beans!

      Yes, it's curious how they even figured out how to cure and dry them, to make them palatable.

      I think there are MANY curiosities in the world of food - who figured out which parts of the blowfish were poisonous and which are not, for instance?? I would have hated to be a slave in that guy's household.... Okay - you try this piece, and you try this piece.... Bingo! What did that guy who dropped dead have again?
