My challenge (and Debbie's too!) for this year's Tour de Fleece was to spin enough cotton for the weft for a set of napkins. We're both cotton newbies and decided it would be good to kick each other up the butt when we needed motivation and spinning for a project was more likely to get me moving than just setting a goal to "spin cotton".
The warp is 22/2 cottolin (dyed by me) and I'm hoping the weft will come out roughly the same. Originally I was planning on using a singles yarn for the weft, but the thread I'm spinning is way too fine and will need to be plied.
I'm going to ply this tomorrow and see where I'm at with yardage. I'm guessing I'm about half way.
