Creeping Lady's-Tresses, Goodyera repens

Cumbria.

This small attractive orchid is found growing under pines, its main population found in the Caledonian pine forests of northern Scotland but there are a handful of scattered colonies elsewhere in the UK. Despite the rain, it appears to have been a good year for them at this Cumbrian site, finding 243 flower spikes yesterday, the highest count ever.
