Burj Al Arab
At dusk, a young girl runs along the edge of the Arabian Gulf towards the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
I have spent the last two week shooting with the new Fuji X100s, and absolutely love this camera. I loved (well, still do) my original X100 so much I was willing to put up with its quirky focusing habits (both autofocus and manual). But the new body is almost without flaw. It can still eat batteries (although, not as much as the original) but that's the only nit pick I can find.
The chip, already good, is vastly improved. It sees deep into dusk, without need for tripod, and has a wonderful palette.
I have long ditched my DSLRs for travel in favor of the X100 as my only body. With the X100s, I am even happier.
This is 1/30s at f/2 at ISO 400, underexposed both to match the tones as I saw them and to give me enough shutter to just slightly blur the girl.
I am happy to shoot with this camera well into higher ISO ranges, and the fact that the lens is sharp at f/2 is icing on the cake.
