      It is not the pottery that got my attention. It is his body. It looks distorted from this angle. No pun intended. Not my intention. I would rather zoom in on the pottery and give a nice DOF to that with blurry face and background. Lower angle would be best in this case. I also feel there was a push in sharpness which i am not comfortable with. A NO vote for me.

      I really like your idea of focusing on the pottery and having the potter in the background. For the most part the photo is in order however I find the crop of the potter awkward. I don't have a problem with his pose or even being in the shadows, but cropping his head so it looks chopped is a bit distracting. There is a lot of potential in this photo but because of the crop I'll vote no. More jurors to follow.

      I think all has been said: angle, DoF... Was a good idea to edit in B&W. Pity that there is not more space on top and at the bottom. The scene had the potential for a better photo. A small, but final NO, sorry, for the pool!
