The Shafer Museum

The Shafer Museum in Winthrop, Washington is a fabulous display of the history of early settlers, and particularly of mining. The museum displays everything from old mining equipment to women's clothing from the 1800s. A cluster of old buildings include a real, fully-furnished pioneer's cabin, replicas of various rooms you would see in a period home, a doctor's office, and even a garage with early motorcars and horse-drawn carriages.
