1958 Chrysler New Yorker

1958 Chrysler New Yorker - rough but attracted a lot of attention.

Now that is a rat rod just waiting to happen!

In California this would not ever have been marketed as a Plymouth, but most of you know it. I gotta assume this was Euro, ZA, South Pacific or even Sudamerica!

Here, probably closest to a Windsor or a Saratoga!

If the guy wanted to advertise it here and ship it over, he might get a sale to a Mopar nut with a big 383 or 440 to drop in.

Yeah, it looks like a DeSoto.

Ah my mistake. Thanks - title updated.

    First purchased in...?

That's a Chrysler. Blow up the picture and you will see "New Yorker" on the fender. DeSotos had the loop shaped bumper.

Ah yes it is. Should be a positive id now.

That's what I said in earlier above comments, but the side trim looks cheaper somehow. Oh, that white chair is hiding the chrome mini-louvers characteristic of NYs of the era.

What registration plate is that? Maybe NY was a model of overseas Mopar at one time?

Well, now that I see in the tags it's Calgary, no doubt--a Chrysler, my first impression above.
