Market and Octavia, San Francisco

Carmel Fallon Building.

Intriguing odd building located at 1800 Market, San Francisco. The Carmel Fallon Building was built in 1894, designed by Edward Goodrich and barely survived the 1906 Earthquake and fire. Unusual five sided building was held within the court system for forty years due to a series of law suits challenging right of ownership which resulted in this fine building's fall into disrepair.

Photograph taken 1999 just prior to it's restoration phase.

Building has recently been restored and in now a community center.
