Damselfly's dinner

Kingdom: Animalia

Phylum: Arthropoda

Class: Insecta

Order: Odonata

Suborder: Zygoptera

It's time for dinner and this damselfly seems to have got what it ordered.

Just a few minutes before sunset, and the swamp is active again. Apparently it's feeding time. A couple of big dragonflies passed over my head with pray in their mouth.

A few meters away an other dragonfly was caught in a spider's web. It was trying to fly away, but just couldn't. For a moment I thought to let it go... when I noticed a little spider running for it's pray. In a matter of seconds it had already pierced the dragonfly's exoskeleton (or whatever it's called) and purred it's decomposing poison in the dragonfly's body. I guess there was no meaning into saving it anymore.

I turned my head and there it was. This pretty damselfly munching on something small and white. (?) I really can't tell what, and the photo does not help much.
