2011 Student Marshal Bradley DeMay, A&S Grad ’11

Hometown: Clayton, New York

Degree: PhD in biological sciences

Through his work on the Graduate Student Council, DeMay greatly increased the council size, bringing together a wider array of students that make up the graduate student community, increasing its advocacy undertakings, playing an active role in the search for the new College president, and creating the Graduate Student Senate to help all graduate student governments at Dartmouth communicate more efficiently both internally and with the College administration. DeMay is photographed in Fairchild Tower, which represents to him “the unification of the sciences.” He continues, “The collaborative nature of the experiments which comprise my thesis work in the Gladfelter lab are a testament to the power of conducting research across scientific disciplines, and the Fairchild tower is a wonderful symbol of that ideal.” As the first student admitted into the PhD/MBA dual-degree program at Dartmouth, DeMay will remain on campus next year to attend the Tuck School of Business.
