Lower Blue Lake
Blue Lake Basin, Mt. Sneffels Wilderness. As with the lakes in Ice Lake Basin, dissolved minerals turn the water a vivid, moving shade of blue.
It rained frequently while I was there, and the flowers were liking it (perhaps a little better than I was, but they have the stronger claim.) Unfortunately, I couldn't find a vantage point with both a good view of the lake and a burst of foreground wildflowers. I kept walking further down the slope, but the flowers -- quite sensibly on their part-- were always growing in little protected ledges whose lips obscured the lake. My best effort at including some spring color is in the comments.
Thanks to David Kingham for filling in the name of the gorgeous peak: it has the sexy handle of "S4"
