summer fungi beautiful Bolete

crawling through the hedgerow hobbit holes of the hawthorn thickets I discovered a hidden woodland world

 

not sure on these probably lurid bolete,, Boletus luridus which is found on chalky soils

rather than the Satan’s or Devil’s Bolete which has a whitish cap and far rarer

among hawthorn and oak
