Melting Glacier Up Close - Alaska

As anyone who has visited glaciers will tell you, they are not glistening white ice. What a surprise! They do have gorgeous areas of varying shades of blue, but are usually covered with lots of dust and debris created by the friction of the moving ice against the mountain around it.
