On the weekend of July 28-29, 2007, Mike Heard of the San Gabriel Mountains Trailbuilders and John Seales of the U.S Forest Service lead a crew of nine men to remove some deadfalls from the Twin Peaks and Waterman Trails. Since the trails were almost entirely within the boundaries of the San Gabriel Wilderness, we had to leave the chainsaws at home and use crosscut saws. We spent the Saturday night camping at Twin Peaks Saddle under a full moon.

The project was a great success as we removed about 9 dead trees laying across the trails. We were tired after two days of challenging work and hiking, but we all had a sense of satisfaction of a job well done.
