Photos from my time in Crew 119 at the Mars Desert Research Station 1-14 Dec 2012 organized by Sol (Martian Day).

In this Martian analog on Earth, the crew spent 2 weeks living and working in a remote, simulated habitat: planned Extra Vehicular Activities, donned space suits, explored the terrain on foot or via rovers, maintained/upgraded systems, and experienced a tin-can existence. Through this research, they can better understand how people will live and work effectively on the Red Planet.

My mission was to document this "feet on the ground" perspective for the first humans on Mars, forming a basis for my MFA Thesis project: a concept album & live show.
