Čop / Чоп (Ukraine) – International Train Station

Hall of the concrete-socialist international train station of Čop, the Ukrainian border station to Hungary and Slovakia. Čop is a small town of 7'000 inhabitants with a strong border air, and it has two big train stations - apart of this one another in typical Russian train station style (much nicer than the international one) for the "local" trains (ie. seven pairs daily from Užhorod to Mukačeve).

When entering Ukraine this way it's really like getting back to the USSR, especially thanks to the huge fresco showing the successes of socialism and the slogan "miru - mir!" (peace for the world).
