DePauw Tigers Bring Home the Monon Bell
The DePauw University Tiger Football Team claims the 300-pound Monon Bell moments after winning the season-ending rivalry game with a score of 14-7 at nearby Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on November 13, 2004. The schools' intense rivalry began in 1890. The bell was introduced as the trophy in 1932 when it was donated by the Monon Railroad, whose tracks connected the 45 miles between the two schools.
