Time and Motion
A short break from Flickr and photography was kind of nice; I touched my laptop twice in 6 weeks… which is unheard of :-)
This was taken on August 1st which was also the date of “Team GBs” first Olympic gold which was won the Helen Glover and Heather Stanning and this was quickly followed by our 2nd gold medal after a great ride from Bradley Wiggins. The original plan was to go and take some photos of the London Eye which would be flashing different colours depending on the “Team GBs” success that day. I had some time to kill so I thought that I’d grad a shot of the “Houses of Parliament”, nothing original about this but it’s a photo that I’ve been meaning to shoot for a while now.
I was torn between the colour version and this B&W but I quite like the moody dark feel (even if it is a little sinister), what does everyone else think……. Incidentally 3 people at work preferred the colour version
While I was taking the photo two overly officious security guards told me that I wasn’t allowed to use a tripod…… it wasn’t even on the floor, it was on a wall. I couldn’t be bothered to argue my point it would have fallen on deaf ears so I just said that I’d leave after finished taking my photo… which ended up taking about 30 mins :-)
I suppose that they were being overly cautious because of the increased number of people here for the Olympics but come on have some common sense!!
Who’s doing “Open House” this year, it’s my first one and I’m looking forward to it, unfortunately I was away at the time the brochure got sent out and I thought that I’d missed out on the booking system… not realising that it was a ballot this year, but there’s always next year. Does anyone have any recommendations for which buildings to visit??
I was planning on being back on Flickr a few weeks back but I got side tracked with other stuff and doesn’t time fly, I’ll get around to all of your streams over the next few days but in the meantime I hope that you all have a great weekend… Saturday looks like a good day (well round my way)
***A few people on here and facebook have mentioned the horizontal lines (contrails) which I didn't like either, so I've cloned them out... I've also cropped the image to remove the rocks in the bottom left corner, both of these issues bothered me and I'm glad that the good folk of Flickr picked up on it..... I always welcome constructive criticism ;-)***
