Snow White

This is for everyone who has ever felt like there is nothing left to live for<3 You can make it.

{feel free to untag}

"I'm awfully sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you. But you don't know what I've been through. And all because I was afraid. I'm so ashamed of the fuss I made."

Once upon a time there was a young girl named Snow White. She had a wonderful life, she lived with her stepmother, in a big house. However, her stepmother was not the nicest of women. She would yell and scream at Snow White over the smallest of things. Snow White spent her days trying to stay obedient, so that she might be good enough for her stepmother.

"You're stupid. You lied. You're never going to be good enough."

Snow White was a happy person. She loved life, but recently, it seemed like nothing was okay. Nothing was good enough. There was no hope.

Day after day Snow White would put up with insults, both verbal and silent. Soon they stopped. But they still stayed in her mind. Everyday, she would repeat them to herself.

I am nothing. I am unloved. I am unwanted.

She started to fall into a deep depression. What was the point? She's not good enough, for anyone.

Ever.

She soon moved out of her stepmother's house. But the insults still played in her mind. Like a sad song on repeat. She couldn't tune it out, she couldn't ignore it. She felt hopeless and unwanted. Inadequate and unloved. She was losing her fight against depression. She started to harm herself.

First emotionally, she would scream insults at herself, remind herself of all the wrongs she had done. She relived moments from her past. She hated herself. She wasn't good enough. Eventually she took it a step further, she started to physically harm herself, she would bruise and cut herself. It started once a week, then turned into once a day, and then into several times a day. She was hurting, but she maintained a calm exterior.

She seemed okay. Happy. No one would ever guess that she struggled with something so tragic. and hurtful.

I'm okay. It's no big deal. Promise.

Snow White struggled with depression for years. She locked her feelings away, she pushed others away.

I'm fine. Don't worry about it.

But soon, her friends, the dwarves, noticed she wasn't okay...They asked about her, they wanted to help her.

What's wrong? I'm here. I love you. I want to help you

Snow White was reluctant to accept this. People used her. She wasn't enough. Why would anyone ever love her? She soon opened up to her friend.

Remember when I said I was okay? I lied...

She needed someone to be there for her. She was alone. But not anymore.
