I tend to ‘go at’ several projects at the same time and see which (most) fall by the way with time. I’ve always been strong with individual images but never been very focussed, ruthless or dogged enough to see them through like for example one of mates here www.peterdench.com/ Anyway, I’ve been skirting around the vague theme of expanses of water for some time. What I’m looking for is ‘playing hard to get’ but treating me mean and keeping me keen is working on this occasion.
Citations - I really enjoy the epic yet mundane nature of a John Davies landscape and the little narratives contained in Misrach’s landscapes. If you don’t know John Davies’s work and you’re interested in landscape then give him a whirl: I think he is my favourite British photographer www.johndavies.uk.com/ - Go to the images link, I really like the city landscapes – really really terrible website though. His large scale prints are phenomenal. If you can get your hands on Richard Misrach: Chronologies then do – it’s an incredible book.

Yeah, he's a good lad and never too far from free drink! Think he's the only person from uni I'm still in touch with.
