Black Oystercatcher (Haematopus bachmani)

    Newer Older

Black Oystercatcher on Ediz Hook, Port Angeles, Washington. There were two of them busily foraging along with the Sanderlings and Turnstones. They are so cute, I love the funky legs and eye-ring.

They're soooo cool, and I've never yet seen one in the wild. Crazy that they're that close to us, and I've only seen 'em in the "zoo" type setting at the aquarium! Great shot!
