Wild Flowers of Box Canyon, Mecca

Never had I seen such delicate beauty in the dry desert washes. Paper thin petals were almost translucent, with peach accents inside made it worth a photo or two. Found this along Box Canyon Road, in the low deserts of the Salton Sea California. Orginally I thought it might be a ghost flower, but another photo and some comparisions proved me clueless on this rare species. Anyone know what this flower is?
