LA Railway: Al G. Barnes Circus, 1935

    Newer Older

One of my favorite Los Angeles CA passes. That great tiger graphic, SO deco! But also for the delightfully named founder of this circus. Info from Wikipedia:

"Al G. Barnes Circus was an American circus run by Alpheus George Barnes Stonehouse. [He] started the show in 1895 with a pony, a phonograph, a stereopticon."

So glad you like these passes too, Denis. I can see from your art -- very strong pieces, btw -- that you also like typography. Fantastic...!

thanks , I love making them. Besides the LA passes I have some really awesome rail passes/tickets from from Great Britian and Australia that I particularly love, with all their letterpress goodness. One of these days I'm going to scan my ephemera and post to share.
