Iron Mountain Legion APC Concept

Here's an APC for my Iron Mountain Legion military theme. I built and photographed this creation before my son was born in January, and I'm finally managing to get it uploaded.

I built this to compliment the other creations that I'd already built for the theme. I've uploaded my initial sketch of the design, and hopefully, you can see a bit of my creative process. I tried to incorporate some of the details I used in the wheeled tank I built for this theme, including a similar front and headlight configuration, and beveled top. I also tried to add some APC functionality, like hatches, and a removable top (which I failed to photograph).

I like the idea of two wheels in the front. It make things more interesting. Nice concept drawing you got here, btw.

reminds me of some coal mine vehicles i've seen.

    I smell some Aliens :)

Yeah, I am definitely detecting a faint whiff of the M557 APC here. Not a bad thing.

Hate to be the naysayer, but... it's kind of blocky. I mean, your tank in this theme had some amazing shapes...

It's definitely blocky, though I think it reads better in the brick than in the drawing. My focus was on the wheel configuration, and also on having a large enough hollow space inside to accommodate troops. I think that the details I added to the finished model, as well as the wedge shape, dress it up so that it reads as more than a box.

Dan Rubin Speaking of which, what's the fig capacity?

It depends, the backpacks I use for this faction are rather gigantic. Still, lined up along the sides, facing eachother, it can pretty handle ten, and a driver. Getting a driver, or a fig close to the front, in and out is a little rough, though.
