This river I stand in
The Queen Street Viaduct built in 1911 provides a gateway to the Riverside community from downtown Toronto. In 1996 a clock and the phrase "This River I step in, is not the river I stand in" were added by artist Eldon Garnet as part of revitalization effort of the Riverside BIA. The phrase is from the Greek philosopher Haracletius and implies that change is constant, and you can never truly step into the same river twice.
The bridge really shines at night when the artwork and steel are fully illuminated. I am not often in the city after sunset, so I took advantage of this opportunity to get this iconic image.
