DC Homeland Security & Emergency Mgmt Agency Mobile Command

January 17, 2008 - The 2009 Inauguration of Barack Obama & Joe Biden Preparations. DC was a big construction zone. Its amazing all the work that is going into it. Plenty of out of state visitors [not including Virginia] (I saw: Alabama, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Alaska, Pennsylvania, Indiana, California, Florida, and I am sure there were more. The plenty of port-a-potties (5000 from what I heard) along the National Mall and various other places around the inauguration zone, its something else to see.The small details are in place like mini eagles on top of lamp posts along the parade route. All the lamp posts had 2 US flags and one DC flag. The street closure signs are up. Pennsylvania Ave already have part blocked off. The area in front of the Blair House was blocked. Plenty of Police including DC, Park Police, Secret Service, and National Guard, there will be many more come Monday evening. The Capitol were the inauguration is going to take place, looks ready to the the flags are hung, the chairs are layed out, and the jumbo-trons are up (there are numerous jumbo-trons along the National Mall, and in the vicinity. Also there was a small MSNBC Studio broadcasting from from the National mall, were I saw Chris Matthews and DC Mayor Adrian Fenty. There are countless camera on top of buildings, and numerous news trucks...And finally there is a abundance of American&DC Flags wherever you look....Patriotic DC :)

Coming Wednesday or Thursday will be pics from the We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration At The Lincoln Memorial, which was awesome...more info concert on that here.
