Male* Merlin - The Old Dune Trail just north of the E-Lot, Sandy Hook National Seashore, Fort Hancock, New Jersey

I saw a number of these at The Hook today with the first few being at the Hawk watch north-east of the K-Lot.

All in all pretty hawky at the Hook today with good numbers of Sharpies, Coops, Red-tails, and a smattering of Broad-wings, Red-shoulderes and Merlins (in that order) the Audubon spotter at the hawk watch reported spotting about 300 hawks altogether and one Bald Eagle.

* I changed the sex from F to M after looking at distant captures of the same bird where I could see the gray/blue coloration of its wings and back.
