Students join doctors on mission to earthquake-ravaged HaitiOn May 28th, Daemen College Director of the Athletic Training Education Program, Lynn Matthews, Daemen College students, Erika Funnell (DPT student), Virginia Kaufman (PA student), Jessica Panepento (Nursing student); Daemen College graduate, Michael Mank; and D'Youville PA student, Carrie Wydysh went to Haiti with The Hope For Tomorrow Foundation Medical Mission chaired by Dr. Jeffrey Meilman. Students had the opportunity to assist in surgeries at the Immaculate Conception Hospital in Les Cayes, Haiti with Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Jeffrey Meilman; UB Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine surgeons, Dr. Robert Smolinski and Dr. Mark Anders; Dr. Hratch Karamanoukian from the Vein Treatment Center; General surgeon, Dr. Raffi Barsoumian; ENT Dr, Jack Kotlarz; and Anesthesiologist, Dr. John Huebschmann. Students also visited and distributed donated clothing, toys, and hygiene products to an all girls orphanage.
