Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Cortalus atrox)

Snapped a few pictures of the snake that I was relocating out of a new housing development area. Released it for a bit in my backyard and the grass was still wet from the rain earlier so the snake looks darker wet. Backed up to the fence and took a stand. On the ground with the camera lens about 24 inches from the snake. Pictures not so great because I didn't spend a lot of time looking through the view finder! Was hoping for a strike at the lens but never happend while lying still and snapping pictures.

Thanks Briley. Well not quite on the zoom. Was using my 105 macro but still trying to get some shots of it striking so was in fairly close. The lens was only about 24 inches from the snake. I didn't want to press his comfort zone too close, lying on the ground, because it showed a gift of striking over the top of my camera towards my head every time I would get up to move! I had my big ring flash attached to the front of the lens and was hoping it would protect me from the strikes? Well, I got a few pictures and it is now free again in a safer place.
