Castello Normanno-Svevo is a well preserved castle in the center of the city. It was built in the 12th century by the Norman King Roger II. In the 19th century, the castle had been used as a prison and barracks. Today, it houses the Region’s Directorate for Architectural and Landscape Heritage.
