Ping’an is the most famous village in Longji scenic area (100 km north from Guilin). Three storied wood buildings are typical. Most of the inhabitants are of the Zhuang ethnic minority and some are Yao people. Zhuang women traditionally wear a flower headscarf. Villagers make a living by cultivating rice-terraced fields.
