Moonlight is sculpture...

~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

Oh, I have always been a sky gazer as long as I can remember. I have one particular memory as a young girl on a Girl Scout overnight. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep and my leader was sitting outside on top of a picnic table looking at the stars. She invited me to sit with her and we both just watched the beautiful, star-filled sky. That night was magic to me for some reason, and I've held on to that memory all these years. I love sleeping outside in my hammock, falling asleep watching the sky.

I always admire moon shots when I see them and have wanted to take some of my own. When I mentioned to my friend, Jerry, that I was going up north for the weekend, he didn't hesitate a minute and offered to let me use his telephoto lens. I could never have gotten the shots I did without it. Thank you, Jerry!!

This was the full moon, the blue moon, on Friday night.
