End-on View of Crank Nub

    Dark bits are older. Bright 'n shiny is today's failure. Doesn't take much, and when it goes, it goes.

    Hard to see from these photos, but there's a bit of inletting machined into the outside. The crack is just at the edge - makes me think "stress riser"... Probably should've caught this, but maybe I'd been looking at them without glasses.

      You can count the rings to see how old it is.
