Black-capped Chickadee, Parus atricapillus
It was snowing today in rural upstate Columbia County, New York, USA, and the birds were on a feeding frenzy. I placed some seeds and nuts on the edge of the deck railing nearest the bathroom window and imaged the birds stopping by to feed, including this Black-capped Chickadee. For this image, I used my AF Tamron Model 572D 70-300mm f4-5.6 LD Tele-Macro Lens and Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) Camera, hand held at the camera with the lens pointed out the opened bathroom window and the lens barrel resting on the window's sill, manually focused, F/L 300mm, ISO 400, f8, 1/160 sec, with available ambient light. I made a few minor exposure adjustments to this full resolution Large JPEG in FastStone.
