Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-5.6 USM review

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-5.6 USM. Now sold.

SB-24 @ 1/16 from above. 30D w/ 50mm.

Review:

Great lens! This is the lens I’ve got on my camera most of the times. I really love the wide angle it gives me at 10mm. A scene usually looks a lot more interesting at that setting.

The image quality is really good with little CAs and other artifacts and good sharpness. The build quality is good, no wobbling and it has a quality “L-feel” to it in my opinion. The AF is good too and very silent.

I bought mine for 6000 SEK (930 USD) used in summer 2007 with UV-filter and a lens hood. It goes for around 7000 SEK (1100 USD) new without filter and hood.

Pros:

* Sharp, good colors

* Light weight

* Wide!

Cons:

* Pretty expensive

* Not a fixed aperture across the zoom range
