Blue Hen Falls Trail Bridge Project, 2012
CVTC and AAT volunteers worked alongside CVNP staff to build the new Blue Hen Falls Trail bridge.

CVNP workers removed the old bridge in large sections so that the new foundation could be installed. Also, they constructed a temporary trail & bridge and staged materials.

The following work was performed by the volunteers and park staff.

June 16, 24 volunteers contributed 139 hours:
- Disassembled old bridge & loaded into truck
- Naturalized one disturbed area
- Re-set three large parking lot rocks
- Straightened cable gate posts
- Staged check dam logs on Buckeye trail
- Attempted to remove large stump that interfered with drainage

June 23, 34 volunteers contributed 249 hours:
- Carried bridge materials to site
- Assembled new bridge main structure
- Renovated grade dip at removed stump area

June 24, 25 volunteers contributed 185 hours:
- Finished bridge
- Built bridge approaches
- Removed temporary bridge
- Naturalized temporary trail and other disturbed areas
- Re-routed 125 feet of the Buckeye trail
- Installed check dam on Buckeye trail
