    Thanks :) It was time consuming as always but it wasn't too hard. It's always harder covering a cake shaped like this though :)

    wow, i'm impressed. i'm trying to make a Leica Camera cake for my boyfriend's birthday. Did you cover it completely in fondant? Also how did you get the cake in that shape?

    Thank you. Yes it's covered completely in fondant. I carved the sponge into shape. As long as you make it to right proportions it shall stand.

    Another question... did you bake the cake in a loaf pan and then carve from that? Or did you use a sheet pan cake and layer it to get height?

    Hi, I used a cake tin that you can adapt to different sizes, so I think I baked approx. 7" x 10" cake, about 2 1/2 inches deep. Stood it on it's side, carved it then cut it in half and added buttercream and crumb coated :)
