Coffee Break

Photo Meditations: Lines & shapes for sure, but forms? I was hoping to get more of a feeling of the cup but it feels flatter than I'd like it to. I also wish the spoon and cup were angled back a bit more so that the handle of the spoon pulled your eye back instead of sideways. That would have also had the cup handle pointing into the frame. Next time...

I do like how the swirls in the coffee draw the eye in and around and the grain in the wood also subtley pulls you in.

This looks luscious...and I don't even drink coffee!!

Prior to reading your comment I was certainly drawn in. The curve of the lower part of the cup and the while swirl lines on top of the coffee certainly drew my eye in immediately. Then I read your comments and even though I wouldn't have thought about some of those suggestions, I agree. I learned from you today. Thanks!

@luluandbob: we're all learning from each other! ;-)

I agree with luluandbob - it's a lovely photo and I also learnt from your thoughts about it.
