In high school I dated a guy who had one of these.

They look a bit dusty if I may say so.

Dating a guy in a shiny Mustang is probably safer.;)

But a bit nerdy I suppose.

Papa Razzi1 Yes, they could use a cleaning and a little tender loving care. Considering the last model year for these was about 40 years ago, they aren't too bad, however.

Mustangs have definitely outlived these guys!

The question of safety might rely more on who is driving, rather than what vehicle is being driven. ;-)

Very wise words Brenda. But none of the kids wants to drive Doris, but they seem pretty comfy with me behind the steering wheel. Either I should take that as a compliment or just a lack of bus money...Not sure...;)

Very nice image of these old timers!

Papa Razzi1 You are probably right. I don't see many younger people in Mustangs here, either. However, it always surprises me how many are in Mercedes and BMWs.

In your particular case, perhaps they worry what might happen if Doris came back in less than perfect condition. ;-)

    Pedalhead'71 Thanks!

Brenda Pederson Mercedes and BMWs? Tisk, tisk. That is soo 2010.

A Fiat 500 with a canvas roof is much cooler. A car with a touch of heart if you get my drift.

They do worry. My son-in-law drove Doris a year ago and came back with sweaty hands. And was slightly shaking when he handed over the keys. But Doris was in good hands. I can almost swear she blinked at me behind his back.
