Windsor Castle #2
According to the tour guide, the Queen was making some lunch one day, when her chips (that's British for french fries) caught fire. Naturally, instead of putting the fire out, she ran around screaming "Help! My chips are aflame!". Then (again, according to the guide), the whole castle burned down. The royal family wanted the government to pay for the repair, to which the tax payers said collectively "umm.. no". So, the family opened up the castle to visitors, and use the admission to fund the repairs.
