Clouded Monitor Lizard at Singapore Botanic Gardens in Singapore (May 16, 2016)
Amazing visit to the Singapore Botanic Gardens today on a sunny, hot morning in May. I have a lot of pictures to post - but I am going to identify the animals and birds where I can. It is funny when you are in a park like this and decide to take one path vs. another. In this instance, I chose wisely and came across this clouded monitor lizard. He was around 2 feet long (head to tail). I have never seen one so big outside of a zoo! Close to this guy - we saw another one - much larger - high in a tree. The best part - I looked it up to see what type of reptile he was by looking at a book in the National Library in Singapore (which we visited today). I am in Singapore for the ABLD-EBSLG-APBSLG Joint Meeting in Singapore from May 16-20, 2016. The Conference was hosted by Li Ka Shing Library, Singapore Management University.
